Anthony Davis is serious when he said he wants the Los Angeles Lakers to be the best defensive team in the NBA. On Friday, he set an example for the Purple and Gold against the Sacramento Kings.

With the Lakers ahead 99-97 with 5.5 seconds left, Kings forward Harrison Barnes attacked the basket after freeing himself up from the LA defense. However, AD immediately went below the basket to stop Barnes from what could have been a game-tying layup.

Davis finished the game with 17 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and four blocks. Meanwhile, LeBron James top-scored with 29 points along with 11 assists and four rebounds.

Moreover, LeBron banked the final two free throws of the game that broke the deadlock and gave the Lakers the win.

Buddy Hield led the Kings with 21 points, while Bogdan Bogdanovic and Richaun Holmes both had big games and chipped in 18 and 17 markers respectively.

Los Angeles improved to 10-2 with the win and extended their winning streak to three — the third-longest winning streak in the NBA behind the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.
