Lakers video: Julius Randle with monster block on James Harden

Over the past three years, Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle has shown a lot of improvement in his game. After breaking his right tibia in his first professional game back in the 2014-15 campaign, he has bounced back from it strong, and has increased his production in each season he’s played in since.

It has even been reported that he is working on his three-point shooting this offseason in the hopes of adding it to his offensive arsenal and turning himself into a stretch forward for the Lakers. One facet of his game that needs more work though is shot-blocking, as he is only averaging 0.4 blocks per game.

However, he surprised many recently during a Drew League game, when he showed incredible timing when he completed a monster block on a driving James Harden and sent his shot back while even giving his team the possession.

If the 22-year-old Kentucky product can become an elite rim protector for the Lakers, it will be a huge boost to his career and will definitely help him to be named an All-Star in the future. He has always been thought of as a very talented young player but his lack of prowess on the defensive end has been his biggest area for improvement, but it could all change this coming season if Randle can prove that he has already developed it further.
