Brooklyn Nets combo guard Spencer Dinwiddie is such a basketball savant he actually called Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis' game-winning shot over the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Check it out:
Kudos to Spencer Dinwiddie on this prediction. It's just another example of NBA players being way smarter than the average fan thinks they are.
Behind Anthony Davis and LeBron James, the Lakers are up 2-0 on the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. Los Angeles is now two wins away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010, when Kobe Bryant won his final title with the Lakers over the Boston Celtics in seven epic games.
James is still universally recognized as the best player in the world, but Davis has arguably been the top player for the Lakers in the 2020 playoffs. The Chicago native is averaging 28.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 12 games against the Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets and Nuggets.
Davis is also shooting 57.3 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 77.2 percent from the free-throw line at Walt Disney World.
The Nuggets have erased two 3-1 series deficits in the 2020 playoffs. However, the Lakers aren't the Utah Jazz or Los Angeles Clippers. They have two killers in Davis and LeBron, plus a defensive-minded coach in Frank Vogel who is excellent at in-game adjustments.
Game 4 between the Nuggets and Lakers is set for Tuesday. If Los Angeles wins, they'll basically lock up a spot in the Finals since no team in NBA history has ever erased a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs.
