A three-team deal has sent Landry Shamet to the Brooklyn Nets to team up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The guard flocked to Twitter to express his excitement.

Shamet will be donning the Nets jersey in the upcoming 2020-21 NBA season. The 23-year-old guard seems pumped in this new chapter of his career.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and the Nets entered a draft-day deal. While the Nets will receive Landry, the Pistons will get the rights to Villanova Wildcats forward Saddiq Bey. Luke Kennard will be with the Clippers.

The Nets is already Shamet's third team in his young NBA career. To recall, Shamet was the 26th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2018 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, he was sent to the Clippers in a deal that involved forward Wilson Chandler, center Mike Muscala, and some draft picks.

Amid a relatively shaky start to his professional career, Shamet's performed up to par. He was tagged as one of the steals of his draft class. So much so that he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

Last season — his first full year with an NBA team — Shamet averaged 9.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists across 27.4 minutes. He was one of the vital pieces of the Clippers' second unit. His shooting from the perimeter and from deep were his main assets that helped turn the Doc Rivers-coached squad one of the titans of the West.

With the Nets, Landry Shamet will team up with the Durant-Irving duo. Led by first-time head coach Steve Nash, the Nets are expected to make waves in the 2020-21 season.
