The Eclipse and Coven shared skin universe is arguably one of the best looking ones, bringing forth skins like Solar and Lunar Eclipse Leona, Old God Malphite, and Coven Camille. In League of Legends Patch 12.8, a new wave of Eclipse skins will hit the Rift, including Sivir's first Legendary skin.

Solar Eclipse Sivir – 1820 RP (Legendary)

“Dark times bring the brightest gold.”

The splash art for Solar Eclipse Sivir has her and her trusty crossblade in full focus, shining as bright as the sun in the middle of the night. In the background, Lunar Eclipse Senna and Solar Eclipse Sejuani can be faintly seen. Sivir's regalia bears the symbol of Solar Eclipse, with her armor shaded silver and maroon, accented by gold.

Solar Eclipse Sivir's splash art is sort of underwhelming. It doesn't seem like a Legendary skin, and this seems to be the general sentiment among players. In all honesty, the other splash arts in this wave of Eclipse skins give a more “epic” vibe than Solar Eclipse Sivir.

Solar Eclipse Sivir, being a Legendary skin, features new animations, emotes, and a full set of unique voice over. Like her splash art, Solar Eclipse Sivir in game is also underwhelming, being dubbed as “Epic tier with Legendary price” by a Sivir player. The new animations doesn't seem to have applied to her basic attacks, as she seems to have the same animation as with her other skins. The only striking “difference” is that her weapon glows, which is most visible when she casts Q.

A redeeming feature of this skin is that Sivir changes form after she casts her Ultimate. While the skill is active, Solar Eclipse Sivir shines a brighter yellow with a slight fiery aura around her and the allies that she buffs.

Updated April 20: Changes were made to Solar Eclipse Sivir:

  • Idle and Transitions modified to differentiate more from base skin.
  • VFX update to R
  • Some bug fixes.

Sun-Eater Kayle – 1350 RP

“Grant me the strength to forge by flame, a world beyond worlds.”

The hated sun-eater, Kayle wished to be one with the divine she loved, devouring the primordial sun and steeping the land in an eternal eclipse. Driven mad with light and unable to contain her power, she passed fragments down to an army of witch-knights, who slew the other gods in an act of unforgivable blasphemy.

Sun-Eater Kayle and Lunar Eclipse Aatrox share the same splash art. As Coven Morgana exists in this skin universe, her forever fated rival and sister in Kayle is naturally here as well. Fiery wings, radiant light, full armor, Sun-Eater Kayle has it all. Looking like the embodiment of the Sun itself, Kayle looks down on Lunar Eclipse Aatrox.

Everything about this skin screams “I should've been the Legendary!” The stark contrast between Sun-Eater Kayle's silver in-game model and her green wings is perfect for denoting that she hasn't reached her full power yet. As she Transcends after turning level 6, her green wings turn red with a faint glow. She gains an extra pair of wings which turn back to green at level 11, which then again turn red as she Transcends level 16. With unique effects for each Transcended level, much work was put on this skin which definitely paid off. I would go as far as sayin that Sun-Eater Kayle's ultimate is one of the best graphics in-game, ever.

Updated April 20: Her wings are no longer green, and are instead maroon-pink. See this Tweet for a preview.

Solar Eclipse Sejuani – 1350 RP

A Knight of the Eclipse who patrols the border of the Elderwood on a great beast. Grim and wild at heart, Sejuani lives for battle with the forces of the Old Gods, caring naught for the reason why.

Solar Eclipse Sejuani looks to be the “grayest” of all the splash arts in this skin line. The only striking colors are the glow on Sejuani's hair, her mount's eyes, and the emblem of the Eclipse Knights on each of their heads. It doesn't seem that Sejuani's riding her boar, Bristle, in this skin, or he magically grew a beak. Nonetheless, the color brings the focus to the correct places, exuding Sejuani's power as a terrifying rider.

At first, it might seem counter-intuitive that Sejuani, an ice-themed champion, get a solar themed skin. Despite the irony, this skin works surprisingly well. Sejuani's mount sports a glowing helmet and pauldrons. Solar Eclipse Sejuani makes full use of this glow to indicate her passive buff, or the dash from her Q. W and E share the same symbolic writing to denote the range and stacks. As Sejuani's E is activated, orange crystals replace the ice that grow around the stunned character. The ultimate looks impressive, faintly reminiscent of the shape of the sun.

Updated April 20: Solar Eclipse Sejuani has “spent some time in the gym working on her arms.” Her splash art will be updated to be more buff.

Lunar Eclipse Aatrox – 1350 RP

“I do not obey! I cannot lay down! I will be the ender of all things!”

One of the few who took up the mantle of the Eclipse Knights in the days of old, Aatrox hopelessly pined for Kayle's affections… but she could only ever love the blazing sun. When she devoured it, the entity's lunar corona consumed him. He exists now as Kayle's monstrous, once-noble shadow, ever at her side.

Lunar Eclipse Aatrox kneels in submission in front of Sun-Eater Kayle. His sword and him feature the same Lunar imagery, and his skin is a shade of purple to complement this. It seems he is wearing some sort of horned helm, but it's not fully visible in the splash art.

In-game, Lunar Eclipse Aatrox' purple hue is more pronounced. His basic attacks all leave shades of this color to enemies he hit, and all three instances of his Q are all purple, too. The color is pleasant to the eyes, and contrasts well with Summoners' Rift. Aatrox' W has a huge Lunar emblem in the middle of its area. When his Ultimate is active, Aatrox grows similarly purple steel wings, which looks majestic and ominous, if anything.

Updated April 20: Lunar Eclipse Aatrox' sword has been adjusted to be as big as it can be without impacting VFX, and the following changes:

  • Added more runes on the Q sweetspot hit
  • More eclipse symbols on W
  • W and Q3 updated

Lunar Eclipse Senna – 1350 RP

“No one fights alone in the Mist.”

An ancient knight long thought dead, freed from the Eclipse Cathedral's catacombs as Kayle began to stir from her ancient slumber. Senna now aids her knighthood against the new threat of the Coven, saving whoever she can from the resurrected Old Gods… though she remains ever vigilant, as the sun-eater's return is now inevitable.

Lunar Eclipse Senna wields her huge railgun which bears the Lunar emblem and has the same violet hue Lunar Aatrox has. Notably, Senna has a blindfold and now has light blue hair.

Lunar Eclipse Senna's more metallic parts are more prominent in her in-game model, as her railgun gains a sheen. The souls that spawn from her passive and the ones that she gains from enemy champions both look like the moon symbol. Overall, the main theme of the skin is violet moonlight, with starry effects on some abilities.

Updated April 20: After some feedback, Lunar Eclipse Senna received some changes:

  • Senna's hair will be brightened, but keeping the blue tint.
  • The runes on Q were brightened and the timing has been slowed down.
  • Details and runes added to E.
  • Timing on W changed and additional elements added.

Prestige Lunar Eclipse Senna – 125 ME

It's just nice not to be in catacombs.”

Burning up the runway in a look inspired by an ancient order of magical knights, Senna brings a cold, but determined energy to the Gala proceedings. Evil beware– these looks can kill… and kill again.

In the Prestige Lunar Eclipse Senna splash art, she now has a white railgun, and her hair is violet. She gains highlights of gold on her gun and clothes, as well as the ends of her cape.

Instead of violet moonlight, Senna's theme is now golden. Out of all the prestige skins released until now, this definitely feels the most “prestigious.” A must-have if you're a Senna player, or just a fan of well-made skins.

These skins can be expected to hit live servers on League of Legends Patch 12.8.
