The Detroit Lions own the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but that doesn't mean they are necessary are going to be making a selection when they are on the clock.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Lions are taking calls for their first-round selection and looking at options to trade back. Breer also added the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders could be looking to trade down to add more draft capital or another player:

“It’s no secret that the Lions are open for business with the third pick. And they’re not alone. The Jaguars are another team that’s kicked around the idea of moving down. The Raiders too, a team that could well be looking to replace the second-rounder they lost this year.”

The New York Giants own the No. 4 overall pick, but they don't need a quarterback. Most believe the Miami Dolphins will select a quarterback with their first-round selection, so teams needing a quarterback might want to jump ahead of them.

If the Giants aren't willing to trade out of the fourth spot, that makes the Lions pick even more valuable. The Lions still believe they have their franchise quarterback in Matthew Stafford, but there are still a lot of other holes the team needs to fill.

If they aren't in love with someone with the third pick, it makes the most sense for the Lions to try and get more draft capital so they can fill a couple of their holes.

If the Dolphins are concerned about someone jumping ahead of them, they have plenty of draft capital to trade up to get the No. 3 pick.
