The Detroit Lions won their first game of the season last week against the Minnesota Vikings. Well, Detroit could be hard-pressed to repeat that effort against the Denver Broncos after the latest injury updates on running back D'Andre Swift and tight end TJ Hockenson.

So, let's get this straight. On the offensive side of the ball, the Lions are going to be without running back D'Andre Swift, backup running back Jamaal Williams and tight end TJ Hockenson.

That is an awful lot of skill position player talent to be without, especially for a team like the Lions, who were already low on offensive weapons. Williams would have been the first one to step up without Swift, just as he did in the last two games, handling at least 15 carries in each contest.

The Lions will have to somehow try to replace their two best running backs in Swift and Williams with a combination of third and fourth stringers Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson. Backup tight end Brock Wright will attempt to do the same filling in for TJ Hockenson.

Lions fans probably thought they wouldn't be hearing these names this season.

This is far from ideal for the Lions, especially against an underrated Broncos defense. Detroit Liosn fans were treated to their first win of the season in dramatic fashion last week.

They might be disappointed this week after the injury updates on D'Andre Swift, TJ Hockenson, and Jamaal Williams.
