The Detroit Lions aren't done adding quarterbacks. Detroit hosted Tyree Jackson and Taylor Heinicke for workouts Tuesday, per Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk.com.

For a while on their 90-man roster, the Lions had five quarterbacks. They cut Tom Savage and former AAF passer Luis Perez on cutdown day to get them down to three. Currently they have legendary journeyman Josh Johnson and undrafted rookie David Blough on the active roster behind Matthew Stafford.

They only signed Johnson last month, and they just traded for Blough in an extremely minor trade with the Browns, so they aren't tied too much to either one.

The Lions have been cycling through signal-callers, and they apparently aren't too happy with their options behind Stafford at the moment.

Jackson is an undrafted rookie from the University of Buffalo. Many analysts were impressed with his physical tools and athleticism, but almost everyone agreed he was far too raw to play anytime soon.

He left school a year early, ended up not getting picked, and signed with the Bills. The Bills gave him a sizable signing bonus, but he wasn't able to crack the roster. He's likely ticketed for someone's practice squad at the least.

Heinicke went undrafted out of Old Dominion back in 2015, and he has bounced around since. Already, he's spent time with the Vikings, Patriots, Texans, and Panthers.

He spent last season as Cam Newton's backup in Carolina, and started a Week 16 game for them. Unfortunately he was injured in that game, and he lost out to Kyle Allen in the backup competition this year.
