Late last month, there was a video of Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions solving a math problem pretty quickly, making it look like he was a math wiz. Despite the video portraying him as such, Stafford admitted that he isn't the math genius we saw in the video.

“I can’t believe you guys fell for the math trick,” Stafford said, via Michael Rothstein of ESPN.

Within the video, Stafford was joined by his former teammates T.J. Lang to answer questions given to him. To finish off the video, Lang asked Stafford what 9,758 times 618 was, and the quarterback began working out the problem.

After a few seconds of supposedly doing the math, Stafford muttered that he answer was 6,030,444. Then, Lang proceeded to show the calculator on his phone, showing the answer of 6,030,444 as the correct answer.

However, since that video has surfaced, it's been revealed that Stafford and Lang coordinated the question before they made an appearance together. Given that, Stafford seems to be a pretty decent actor for an NFL quarterback.

At the least, it seems that Stafford is in good spirits after suffering a season-ending back injury last season. Following his back injury, the Lions are confident the 32-year-old can return to being a talented quarterback in 2020.

As an NFL quarterback, Stafford is well-versed in figuring out defenses. Even though he made it seem like he had a hidden talent as a math expert, the Lions quarterback isn't who he portrayed himself to be. Maybe when he retires from the NFL, Stafford expresses an interest in acting, though.
