The Detroit Lions are in a close game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday but they may need to finish the game without T.J. Hockenson. After making a catch in the third quarter, Hockenson was carted off of the field with an injury versus the Chiefs per Michael Rothstein.

The rookie tight end appeared to land awkwardly on his head and shoulder following a nine-yard reception he made in the red zone. Fortunately, Hockenson was able to get onto the cart under his own power. After watching the play, you worry that Hockenson may have a concussion.

The Lions drafted Hockenson with the eighth overall pick in this year's draft out of Iowa. When they selected him, they had the intentions to make him a focal point of their offense as the season progressed.

In Week 1, the Lions tight end caught six passes for 131 yards and a score in his NFL regular-season debut. Then, in the next two games, the rookie pass-catcher was nonexistent in the offense with two receptions for eight yards.

Prior to Sunday's injury, Hockenson had three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown. Sadly, Hockenson's day will come to an end with the tight end being ruled out for the remainder of the game. Nevertheless, we're hoping it isn't anything serious for Hockenson.

With Hockenson being ruled out, Matthew Stafford will rely on Jesse James at the tight end position.

Along with James, Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones will likely see an uptick in targets as the game comes to a close.
