There had been rumblings ahead of Saturday's Champions League Final that Sadio Mane wasn't long for Liverpool, with Bayern Munich rumored as a likely destination. Well, after the Reds' shocking 1-0 loss to Real Madrid, Mane has now made a decision on his future with the club.

Indeed, Mane will be leaving Liverpool and is ready for a fresh start. While no deal with Bayern is done, they are strong contenders for his services:

Mane joined Liverpool in 2016. He left Southampton for a transfer fee of £34 million on a five-year contract, making him the most expensive African player in history at the time of the deal.

The Senegalese star quickly made his presence felt with the Reds and won the club's Player of the Season Award in his first year. With Mane on the roster over the last six years, Liverpool won an English Premier League title in 2019-20 and went to three Champions League Finals, losing twice to Real Madrid and beating Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.

Along with reaching the Champions League Final this year, Liverpool finished second in the EPL while also winning the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

Mane's Liverpool career was quite prolific, scoring 90 goals in 196 Premier League appearances. He tallied 120 goals in 269 total appearances with the club.

This is a tough loss for Liverpool after all the contributions Sadio Mane gave them over the last six years. This is a double whammy after losing the Champions League Final in heartbreaking fashion after going in as the favorite.
