The Miami Hurricanes not only defeated the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday, but decided to bring back some of that “The U” swag when it was all said and done. With the clock hitting zero, and the Hurricanes upending the Seminoles 24-20, some Miami fans decided to party like it was 1999 all over Florida State's logo.
Here is the footage:
This is actually wonderful for a variety of reasons. One of the best ones being the unintentional irony of shoveling the head area of the FSU logo. We won't touch the specifics on that, but this does lead to a few questions.
Are they supposed to be pantomiming an effort of removing it from the field in a heroic act of deleting a potential racist logo from the sport? Maybe they are actually digging off the poop Florida State clearly left on the field after “bleeping” the bed?
Who knows? Who cares? The highlight of that entire dilly might be Mark Richt running over to stop his players from doing such a thing.
The star of this game was Malik Rozier. The junior drove Miami 75 yards in nine plays, throwing a 23-yard touchdown pass to Darrell Langham with 6 seconds left. This led to Miami beating Florida State 24-20 on Saturday to end a seven-game losing streak in the series.
“I told the guys that we had plenty of time for us to go score. Our receivers were killing them on routes,” said Rosier, who was 19 of 44 for 254 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.
There are no current updates as to who provided the motivational speech prior to The U players dancing on FSU's logo.
