Twitch banned Pokimane on their platform Friday night, likely due to a marathon of Avatar: The Last Airbender on her live stream.

As usual, Twitch doesn't give a clear-cut solution to why streamers get banned or suspended on their platforms. However, Pokimane's suspension is most likely due to her streaming Avatar: The Last Airbender on her channel for ten hours straight. Even she acknowledges on her tweets that her suspension's most probable cause is a DMCA claim over the content she was watching with her fans. She would later report that her Twitch suspension will last for 48 days.

However, Twitch streamers are not really threatened by the DMCA over the current “TV Meta” on the platform. Even though Youtuber Ludwig Ahgren warned Twitch streamers on what the repercussions of the TV Meta will have on their channels, the Twitch content creators have not budged. Take xQc's reaction, for example. Instead of taking Ludwig's advice, xQc instead dismissed Ludwig's comments, saying that “he's just malding.”

Now, Pokimane has been made an example of by Twitch. Whether or not this will deter other Twitch streamers is another topic altogether. As for Pokimane, she still plans to resume streaming once her suspension gets lifted, planning a 12-hour comeback stream once she's ready.
