Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic had a wide-open lane in a fast break opportunity. Instead of throwing down a slam dunk, the Slovenian did a soft layup much to the chagrin of his teammates.
Peep the clip below to see Doncic's layup and his teammates' subsequent reaction. Doncic is not really known to be a dunker, but his teammates wanted a little something out of him. From the looks of it, Doncic was thinking about slamming it down but changed his mind mid-air.

Mavs fans are well aware that Doncic can slam it down if he wants to. But he's most known for his passing ability, that dreaded step-back 3-pointer, and his clutch play. Even though he didn't spike it down, Mavs fans know that a Doncic highlight reel won't feature a lot of dunks.
And Doncic has actually trolled himself for his jumping/dunking ability or lack thereof. In a tweet last year, he made posted a clip of himself slamming one down over his opponent. According to the Slovenian, those were the days when he “used to jump.”

Doncic definitely let his teammates down during that possession. Who knows, Doncic might make it up next time by throwing it down as hard as he could? Who knows what the Slovenian sensation is capable of anyway?
