Never change, Magic.

Last night and then early this morning, Magic Johnson, the all-time Los Angeles Lakers great who won five titles with the franchise, took to Twitter to discuss his feelings on who he believes the Purple & Gold should pursue in free agency.

With very little factual backing, Magic demands that the Lakers go after Kevin Durant in free agency while asking that they contact LeBron James‘ agent about his availability as well. The only player who has realistically been discussed as an option for Los Angeles is the RaptorsDeMar DeRozan.

All Magic is doing is fueling the wild hopes and dreams of Lakers fans who always believe that their franchise is going to attract the best free agents available just because they're the Lakers, despite finishing with the second worst record in the NBA.

Yes, Luke Walton is a welcomed change as head coach, but before Los Angeles can hope to attract marquee talents, they need to at least give the appearance of a team on the cusp of competing for a playoff spot, let alone a title.

Adding DeRozan would be a solid start; he did his best Kobe Bryant impression when he shot 10-for-31 against the Pacers in Game 7 on Sunday.

Durant and LeBron? Fantasize away.
