Jonathan Isaac entered Wednesday averaging 12.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the Magic, all while shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 76.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Magic are trying to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Orlando made the postseason in 2018-19 for the first time since the final season of the Dwight Howard era. The Magic lost to the Toronto Raptors in the first round in five games.

For Orlando to make the playoffs again, Aaron Gordon and now Isaac have to get healthy. Gordon is dealing with an Achilles injury.

The Magic will ultimately go as far as All-Star center Nikola Vucevic can take them. He’s putting up 18.1 points and 10.6 rebounds this season in 22 games and shooting 45.8 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from the 3-point line and 78.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Orlando plays again on Friday against the Miami Heat. We’ll see if Issac suits up for that one, although all signs point toward the Magic being cautious with their talented youngster since his long-term health is the most important thing to the franchise.

The Magic drafted Isaac with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 draft.
