Through more than the last decade, the Orlando Magic have played their summer league action during the month of July in Florida.

However, it appears that the Magic have decided to change it up a bit next summer as Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the organization will play next year in Las Vegas.

The Orlando Magic will not hold their annual summer league in Orlando next year and will participate instead in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, team officials told the Orlando Sentinel.

The Magic had played in the area 14 times since 2002, which took place in an arena that is closed from the public in the Orlando Pro Summer League. The local fans were only able to view the games on TV due to that being the case.

This past offseason, 24 teams participated in the Las Vegas Summer League with each team playing a minimum of five games overall. These teams had to participate in three preliminary games to determine the seeding for the one-game playoffs.

The addition of the Magic will likely push a couple of teams to make the jump to join the Las Vegas Summer League next summer which is usually held at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion. The other teams that played in Orlando this past summer were the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
