As there are now four matchdays left in its Premier League campaign, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola sees that his team must win its remaining fixtures in the campaign to fend off the late-season push from Liverpool.

“It’s in our hands,” Guardiola said after Manchester City's 4-0 victory against Leeds United. “Wolves, Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa. We win (them all and) we will be champions – we drop points Liverpool will be champions.

“We know exactly what we need to do – win our games.”

Both Manchester City and Liverpool took care of business on Premier League matchday 35. The current England top flight leaders clinched a convincing away win over Leeds United, while Liverpool notched a narrow 1-0 victory against Newcastle United. Guardiola's side still maintains a slim one-point lead at the top of the table.

The two Premier League sides will now shift their attention to their UEFA Champions League semifinal ties in the coming days, but all focus will then turn to next week’s league schedule. Manchester City is set to meet Newcastle United, while Liverpool will clash with Tottenham for what can be tabbed as the most arduous match of its remaining schedule.

In the big picture, the Premier League title race is projected to come down to the final matchday of the season, and the two powerhouse clubs could possibly then go on to face off in this season’s Champions League final.
