Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been found guilty on three charges after a brawl took place during his vacation in Mykonos, according to Goal.com. Maguire was found guilty of charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and repeated attempts of bribery after an incident with Mykonos police last week.

The Red Devils defender was among Gareth Southgate's chosen to the England national team squad hours ago, though it looks like the manager will have to look at other options in the back.

“It is a decision that I could only take on the information that I have. I have spoken with Harry and I have the insight to the story which is different to what’s being reported. In these instances, I think you can only make decisions on the facts you are aware of. Clearly, if facts change further down the line then I have to review that decision,” said Southgate.

“But, I have a fantastic relationship with the boy, Harry has been an outstanding character for us and I have no reason to doubt what he is telling me. It is important that he knows he has my support at this moment.”

Harry Maguire was allegedly kicked in the leg and told “your career is over” after attempting to bribe Mykonos police while on vacation. The defender was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and attempted bribery of an official after allegedly hitting a police officer who was trying to clear an altercation between the Englishman's entourage and a group of tourists.

The case was brought into court quickly, and according to Sky Sports, the prosecution alleged that once Maguire arrived at a police station in Syros after being shipped off Mykonos, he said:

“Do you know who I am? I am the captain of Manchester United, I am very rich, I can give you money, I can pay you, please let us go.”

Harry Maguire's lawyer, Alexis Anagnostakis, asked the court to postpone proceedings over his client's alleged involvement in a brawl on Mykonos Island in Greece, claiming he and his team did not have enough time to prepare. The trail went on, however, as the lawyer told the court that two Albanian men had approached Maguire's sister Daisy, who fainted immediately after being injected with an unknown substance.

Anagnostakis alleged that Harry Maguire was then kicked in the leg by police officers — who were in plain clothes — and told him: “Your career is over.”

The court heard one of the police officers received first aid while trying to make an arrest because Maguire got angry once he noticed he was in handcuffs and tried to break away. The officer who handcuffed him said Maguire pushed him hard, causing him to fall backwards and hurt his back and suffer a leg injury. He said he was injected with painkillers and took the next day off to recover. A third police officer ratified the two prior events.

Harry Maguire was not present in court but pleaded not guilty, denying charges of aggravated assault and attempted bribery of an official.
