Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is edging closer to his much-awaited return from injury.

After returning to do light training with Manchester United a few weeks ago, Marcus Rashford has shared an update on the progress of his recovery on social media.

According to Rashford, he is set to meet his doctor on Friday and should things go “well,” he is likely to be approved for “contact training” with Manchester United.

“Happy Monday. I see the doctor on Friday for a consultation,” Rashford tweeted. “All being well, I will get the green to join in with contact training again.”

Prior to Rashford’s announcement, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already divulged that his frontman has been doing great in his recovery.

“He seemed very happy with the surgery,” Solskjaer told Manchester United ‘s official website of Rashford via The Mirror. “He’s working in the gym we see him every day so he’ll be chomping at the bit when it gets nearer to the time when he can come back.”

“Of course, any time you’re off with an injury is a hard time but it’s also time to reflect and find yourself again,” he added. “That’s what we hope is going to happen to Marcus.”

It can be recalled that a shoulder problem halted Rashford’s fine run with Manchester United last season. Despite the injury, the striker continued playing while enduring the pain and helped the Red Devils finish the tough campaign.

Rashford even managed to participate in the Euro 2020 to help England make it to the finals. After the tournament, the Englishman decided to undergo surgery for his shoulder injury.
