Cal basketball coach Mark Fox seems to be getting the buy-in that he wants from his players heading into the 2019-20 college basketball season.

Fox is set for his first season in Berkeley, and he takes over a program that has struggled to find success in recent years.

But it's clear that he's focused on building a winning foundation, and it appears to be working thus far.

“Right now it’s about making a daily investment to get better, and to this point, which is still very, very early in the season and obviously in my tenure, I’ve been pleased with the investment that these kids are making,” Fox said via the Associated Press.

Fox spent nine years at Georgia and led the Bulldogs to two NCAA Tournament appearances before being fired after the 2017-18 season.

Cal has made the tournament just once since 2013, so Fox may have his work cut out for him when it comes to trying to turn things around quickly in a competitive Pac-12.

The Golden Bears will tip off the season on Nov. 5 against Pepperdine.
