Its been awfully quiet for the Dallas Mavericks with regards to the status of the controversy the franchise found itself in after a Sports Illustrated exposé, published earlier in the year, revealed that there have been a spate of sexual harassment incidents as well as the continued employment of a beat writer previously arrested for domestic assault.

Severe penalties have been discussed, and there have been rumors that the league could strip away the Mavericks' first-round pick, but that wasn't the case and the team eventually ended up with Luka Doncic after swapping picks with the Atlanta Hawks.

Several months later, ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that Adam Silver expects the final report to be made available soon.

It's not quite clear what the effect of the investigation holds for the Mavs or who will be sanctioned and what fate awaits team owner Mark Cuban.

The Shark Tank host and billionaire has vehemently denied knowing about the sexual misconducts that have been going on for over a decade (largely perpetrated by their disgraced CEO Terdema Ussery, who has been fired apparently for reasons unrelated to the said offenses), although there have been statements that claim otherwise. It's also hard to believe for many that these incidents would have sailed past an owner who takes pride in being so hands-on.

That said, Cuban has since taken steps to correct his shortcomings by instilling a new CEO in former AT&T human resources VP Cynthia Marshall as well as apologizing profusely for the incidents.
