Luka Doncic is turning heads early in the season and DeAndre Jordan doesn't consider the Dallas Mavericks rookie to be like your typical rookie. He believes the Slovenian swingman is far more advanced than most rookies that enter the league.

“He’s not a really rookie,” teammate DeAndre Jordan said to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times. “He’s so far advanced. He’s still a kid; like, he plays video games all day. But he’s a killer out there.”

There were questions about Doncic's NBA-readiness and his athleticism, but Doncic has put those criticisms to rest early in the season. The rookie is showing all facets of his game. He's scoring, distributing, rebounding, and playing much better defense than most predicted.

But perhaps the most striking thing about Doncic's game is his willingness to go at anyone. At 19-years-old, it wouldn't be surprising to see Luka Doncic disappear at times. It happens to every rookie, but so far, Doncic has been remarkably consistent and he looks mature beyond his years.

Perhaps we should have seen this coming. The wonderboy won the EuroLeague's MVP at 19, becoming the youngest ever MVP in the history of the league. Obviously, the NBA competition is a step up, but the EuroLeague is stacked with talent and it's rare to see a player at Doncic's age dominate like he did.

He has a bright future in Dallas and he plays well beyond his years. The Mavericks snagged a good one.
