Gilbert Arenas is confident Luka Doncic can lead Slovenia to Olympic gold. However, while discussing the greatness of the Dallas Mavericks star, he couldn't help but mock the Mavs' roster.

During his recent presser in the Big 3, former NBA star and now Enemies head coach Gilbert Arenas was asked if he believes Doncic can win the gold medal with Slovenia in the Tokyo Olympics. The 39-year-old didn't hesitate with his answer and even laughed before mentioning that Doncic can do it since he did it for the Mavs–leading the team to the playoffs in back-to-back years.

However, Arenas also made fun of the Mavs to emphasize Doncic's greatness, calling the 22-year-old's teammates a “YMCA team.”

“S*it, he did it for Dallas. That YMCA team he had, got them to the playoffs, bruh. I'm serious… that YMCA team, bruh. So he has a chance, he has a chance, Yes!” Arenas said, per Fanatics View.

Now that is certainly harsh assessment of the Mavs. However, it's hard to blame Gilbert Arenas for thinking that way since Luka Doncic almost single-handedly carried the team to the playoffs.

Of course, there were flashes of brilliance from the likes of Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Brunson and Kristaps Porzingis during the 2020-21 season. However, they were all inconsistent and Luka was the sole Mavs player who performed well throughout the campaign.

Doncic is currently focusing on bringing Slovenia the Olympic gold, which would be the first time in the history of the small nation. They completed the group stage with a  perfect 3-0 record, and they are now heading to the quarterfinals against Germany. This means that two more wins will ensure the Mavs star and his national team a medal, with a real chance at gold.
