The Dallas Mavericks' recent 106-93 loss to the Indiana Pacers was a night to forget for Kristaps Porzingis and his teammates. The Mavs' shooting, particularly from the arc, was a big factor in what was their fourth loss from their last five games.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Porzingis addressed the current poor run of form his team is showing. According to him, while they are playing hard on the court, there are still errors in their game that go against them (via The Dallas Morning News):

“It sucks right now to be us because we’re fighting, we’re playing hard, we’re trying to do things right, but we still commit mistakes out there,” Porzingis said. “On top of that, we’re shooting catastrophic, so it’s hard to win like that.”

Porzingis is definitely playing hard, and he has put in some solid displays this season. Not many will fault his efforts against the Pacers. He and Luka Doncic combined for a total of 49 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Unfortunately for those two, the rest of the Mavs could not impact the game. The Mavs' other three starters Reggie Bullock, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Dwight Powell all combined for a total of just six points.

Apart from Jalen Brunson's strong display, none of the players off the bench did much to influence the game either. Tim Hardaway Jr. finished 1 of 9 on 3-pointers. Bullock missed both of his only 3-point attempts in the game. The Mavs were already poor from the arc against the Brooklyn Nets. Against the Pacers, however, they reached a season-low in terms of 3-point shooting percentage.

The stats echo Kristaps Porzingis' sentiments on being a Mavs player right now. Currently, the Dallas team are 7th in the Western Conference with a 12-13 record.
