Good news for Dallas Mavericks fans. Kristaps Porzingis is expected to miss just one more game and might head back to action next week.

To recall, Porzingis was pulled out moments before tipoff in their eventual 106-101 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Reports reveal that the Mavs forward approached the medical staff, and noted that his right knee is experiencing some soreness.

The next game, a duel with the Brooklyn Nets, the Unicorn sat out which subsequently raised concerns about his knee. But the Mavs staff were quick to dismiss the concerns. Asked whether the injury is serious or not, the Mavs shared that they were just being cautious.

In 31 games this season for the Mavs, Porzingis is averaging 17.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He’s shooting 40.3 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from deep, and 72.5 percent from the free-throw line. The Mavs currently sport a 22-12 record. They are in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.

Following the Mavs' update, Porzingis will miss their duel with the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Come Monday, he might suit up against the Chicago Bulls.

In the two games without the 7-foot-3 Latvian Maxi Kleber took his spot in the starting five. Against the Thunder, Kleber put up 14 points and 14 rebounds in 35 minutes. Against the Nets, he had 18 points, four rebounds, and three blocks across 31 minutes of action.

Porzingis, along with Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic have done a terrific job in holding down the fort in the post-Dirk Nowitzki era. There's a ton of games left but many are confident that the Mavs are going to be serious playoff contenders.
