Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic and team icon Dirk Nowitzki shared a beautiful moment on the court on Tuesday after the Mavs took down the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 of their playoff series.

With Dirk in attendance in Staples Center, Luka and the Mavs made him proud with a spectacular performance to take a 2-0 lead. Doncic was sensational once again, putting up 39 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to spoil Kawhi Leonard's 41-point explosion.

Following the game, Doncic and Nowitzki met at the stands to dap each other and take a photo–a scene that certainly made every Mavs fan smile.

Dirk Nowitzki is unarguably the greatest player to suit up for the Mavs. More than winning the team's lone championship in 2011, his immense loyalty to the franchise–taking pay cuts just to help the team build a contender–has been well-appreciated until now (and likely forever).

Nowitzki gave it his all for the Mavs, and as he retired following the 2018-19 season, he made sure to pass the torch to Luka–who has completely taken the German's place as the leader of the team.

Luka Doncic has now led the Mavs to two straight playoff appearances, and his growth in the past three years has all fans dreaming of a second championship after that first one Dirk brought home.

It is just beautiful to see Luka and Dirk share a deep friendship, and hopefully, the Mavs can keep honoring him with their will and never-say-die attitude.
