Luka Doncic has been incredible for the Dallas Mavericks. In his three seasons with the Mavs, he has proven himself to be an elite scorer and playmaker. Doncic is undeniably one of the best players in the NBA right now. However, one former NBA coach thinks Doncic is even better than that.

Speaking on Shannon Sharpe's podcast Club Shay Shay, ex-Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson was adamant in his belief that Luka Doncic has a legitimate case to be part of the NBA's Top 75 Greatest Players list. Here's what he had to say about the Mavs phenom.

“The one guy that you named to me, I think, could well very be on the top 75 player list that comes out pretty soon. And people say will there be a sleeper that’s young, but Luka Doncic is the real deal. When you look at what he’s been able to do early on in his career, he has got it. If it was me voting, he’s on the list.”

Wow. A bold claim coming from Jackson here about the Mavs star. As part of it's 75th anniversary, the NBA will be released a curated list of the 75 greatest players to play in the league. There are definitely some names that are still playing who will be selected here. LeBron James, Stephen Curry, those guys have the resume and the impact to make it into that list

Doncic is a stellar talent, the successor to the Mavs franchise after Dirk Nowitzki's retirement. He has all the makings of a potential top-50 player in NBA history. But here's the thing: it's way too early in Doncic's career to call him part of the Top 75 of all-time. Not even the most die-hard Luka fans will think he's already there, not when he hasn't made it out of the first round just yet.

Doncic still has a long way to go before etching himself into NBA history. Based on what we've seen from him, though, it might not be long before he does that.
