Luka Doncic is on a historic run to start his NBA playoff career. The Dallas Mavericks star has laid waste to the Los Angeles Clippers through his first nine games, besting even Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Doncic and his Mavs may have fallen in Game 3 against the Clippers, but Luka was still on his game throughout. He finished with 44 points, to go along with nine rebounds and nine assists.

That point total gives him a mind-boggling 300 points through nine games. That puts him him right ahead of Wilt Chamberlain (299), and zooms him past LeBron James (287) through nine.

Before this game, Doncic had an already impressive 256 points through eight career playoff games for the Mavs. But LeBron James had the upper hand on him, with 266 total through eight. However, James only tallied 21 points in his ninth contest against the Detroit Pistons in 2006, giving him a total of 287 through nine. Doncic passed that total midway through the third quarter against LA.

The Clippers looked to be in dire straits after Game 2. Doncic has had their number, and that continued in the third game. It was the rest of the Mavs that failed to rally behind their talisman. After getting big-time performances from Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis in the previous matchups, neither of them cracked 15 points in Game 3.

But as long as Doncic plays at this level, Dallas will be in good shape. The Clippers need to win three out of the next four contests if they hope to overcome Luka Doncic. Game 4 will be on Sunday.
