Before Goran Dragic signed with the Brooklyn Nets late in the 2021-22 season, there were tons of rumors that he may join Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic. There is still the possibility we see a Doncic-Dragic reunion on the Mavs in the future, but this time, the two will reunite on the international stage.

Dragic has announced that he is coming out of international retirement to join Luka and the Slovenian National Team for their upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers. This will be Dragic's first appearance for his country in five years.

The veteran guard hung them up in 2017 after leading Slovenia to the FIBA EuroBasket title where he was named MVP of the tournament. Since then, Mavs star Luka Doncic has emerged as the main man for Slovenia, who showed well at the Olympics last summer.

As for a possible role with the Mavs, Dragic will be allowed to sign with any organization he prefers this summer, and given his Slovenian connection to Luka, there is a good chance Mark Cuban and Dallas decide to bring him in. Although his role wouldn't be huge, the vet is comfortable coming off the bench and adding a scoring and playmaking punch to the second unit.

These upcoming games for Slovenia are a good test to see how Doncic and Dragic play together and hopefully, it's a sneak peek into the 2022-23 season for the Mavs.
