The Dallas Mavericks have been linked with Goran Dragic since the offseason, and after the veteran guard reached a buyout with the San Antonio Spurs, the talks about him joining the Mavs and pairing up with Luka Doncic intensified even more.

However, it is worth noting that Mavs GM Nico Harrison said after the trade deadline–following the team's trade for Davis Bertans and Spencer Dinwiddie in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis–that they are now all set and do not have further plans to look for any roster additions in the buyout market.

Despite that, though, Doncic admitted to Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News that he still wants to play alongside Dragic. He also didn't close the door on the Mavs potentially making a move for his fellow Slovenian playmaker.

“He’s my guy. Everybody would want their guys on their team, so we’ll see,” Doncic said.

This is certainly an interesting comment from Luka Doncic, especially since it contradicts the publicly mentioned plan of the Mavs. Additionally, they are a team that doesn't really need backcourt help with the presence of Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie and Frank Ntilikina.

Dallas is lacking size, so fans and experts alike think they would be looking for a big man if ever they decide to chase anyone in the buyout market.

For now, though, it remains to be seen if Mark Cuban and company will really make a move for Goran Dragic. A lot of teams are interested in him, including the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
