Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic had a magical first quarter against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. So much so in fact that he finished with more points, rebounds and assists than the entire Warriors team during the first 12 minutes of the game.

Doncic, who went for 22 points, five rebounds and five assists (in addition to five made threes), was all over the floor in the first. He was a walking highlight reel, even making a no-look dish for an assist to Dorian Finney-Smith that resulted in a thunderous fastbreak jam.

For as rare as the feat was, Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns joins him on the shortlist of players to have collected at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists in a quarter when he did so against the Boston Celtics on Jan. 2. Other than Doncic and Towns, no player has accomplished that feat over the past 15 seasons, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Entering the night, Doncic had already been making a legitimate case for the league's MVP Award, having rattled off triple-doubles in six of his first 13 contests. Averaging 29.5 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists, Doncic put himself on pace to fly past those averages in the first quarter Wednesday, even if the Mavericks' lead indicated that he may not be needed for much of the remainder of the contest.

After going for a career-high 42 points in his previous outing, this marks two consecutive historic performances from Doncic. What will he churn out next? Check back Friday when he faces Cleveland.
