Dallas Mavericks fans can now breathe easy. Luka Doncic confirmed that the ankle injury he sustained in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers is “not that bad.”

Speaking to reporters after the game, the Mavs star called it a “little sprain.” He also noted that he is lucky that the injury occurred in his left ankle and not in the right that he sprained twice earlier in the 2019-20 campaign.

For what it's worth though, Doncic said he will be undergoing MRI on Saturday to confirm the severity of his injury and as a cautionary measure in order to avoid worsening the issue.

To recall, Luka Doncic sustained the injury late in the third quarter of Friday's matchup. He was guarding Kawhi Leonard who was driving to the basket, but it appeared that Leonard accidentally bumped his legs that led to him tweaking his ankle.

The 21-year-old Slovenian went down and held his legs in pain. He was able to stand up on his own and went to the Mavs' locker room hobbling. However, while he was able to return and start the fourth quarter, it didn't last long.

Luka eventually subbed out of the game for good, but he was clearly frustrated after heading to the bench. He finished the night with a triple-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Unfortunately, the Mavs fell to the Clippers, 130-122. Leonard led the way for the Clips with 36 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Kristaps Porzingis top-scored for Dallas with 34 markers on top of 13 boards.
