Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic took to social media to react to the news that Mavs assistant Stephen Silas is leaving the organization to become the next head coach of the Houston Rockets.

Luka Doncic is clearly happy for Stephen Silas, who is finally getting his first shot at being a full-time head coach in the NBA. The son of Paul Silas figures to have a lot of success with the Rockets since Houston is the only team in the NBA with two MVPs on the roster in James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

The Mavs are coming off a successful 2019-20 season. They made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and took the Los Angeles Clippers to six games in the first round at Walt Disney World.

The next step for the Mavs is to go on a deep playoff run with Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis leading the way. Dallas may have actually defeated the Clippers at Disney World had Porzingis not suffered a knee injury, so the future for the Mavs is certainly bright.

Doncic, who is already one of the best players in the NBA, should be in the MVP conversation in 2020-21. He finished the 2019-20 campaign with stellar averages of 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from beyond the arc and 75.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Now that Silas is with the Rockets, games between Houston and the Mavs will be extra fun next season.
