Mavs’ Luka Doncic speaks on matchup with Rockets star James Harden
After the Dallas Mavericks’ big won over the Houston Rockets capped by his stellar individual performance, Luka Doncic shared his thoughts on his match up with James Harden. Per Salman Ali of ClutchPoints, the Mavs’ sophomore sensation tagged Harden as a ‘top three’ player in the NBA.
Luka Doncic on matchup up with James Harden: "Those matchups, they're big. Harden is a top three player in the league, and this was a big win for us."

In their 137-123 win on Sunday, Doncic posted 41 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists. On an individual level, the Mavs’ guard becomes just the fourth player in the league since the ABA-NBA to record at least four consecutive 30-point, 10-assist games. The other three players are James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Michael Jordan.
Meanwhile, the Mavs have extended their winning streak to five games. They sport a 11-5 record for third place in the West. Doncic has steadily inserted himself into the MVP discussion. His statistics have trickled on to winning performances for the team. And at the end of the day, it’s all that matters.
They handed the Mike D’Antoni-helmed squad to their third loss in a row. They still have a decent 11-6 record. But just a few games ago, they were riding an eight-game winning streak. The Rockets are still considered a legitimate playoff contender even with the questionable roster changes over the summer. Harden remains a scoring machine but from the looks of it, other players would need to step up if they don’t want to fall off the playoff race this year.
