The Dallas Mavericks and star point guard Luka Doncic tried to perform a nice gesture by acknowledging Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale–who was named Rookie of the Year in the WNBA this past season–but the Minnesota Lynx were not hearing any of that noise. When the Wings tweeted out a video of the Mavs' Slovenian sensation giving his congratulations to Ogunbowale, the Lynx responded with a rather unprovoked Twitter barb of their own.

This prompted a clap back from Mavs owner Mark Cuban, who obviously has never shied away from speaking his mind.

Not only did Cuban defend his point guard, but he also used the controversy as an excuse to take another dig at FOX Sports NBA Insider Chris Broussard.

Cuban's disdain for Broussard stems from Broussard's 2015 report that Cuban was begging league personnel and friends for DeAndre Jordan's address:

Though Broussard eventually backed down from the report after Cuban dragged him into the public limelight, it would seem that the mercurial Mavs owner is unwilling to relinquish this grudge.

Broussard has become an outspoken personality himself, and he has repeatedly drawn the ire of players and coaches around the league, including Kevin Durant.

Meanwhile, Cuban has had a number of organizational issues of his own in the past year. A seven-month investigation found that the Mavs have had a history of mistreatment and poor workplace culture with respect to the safety and wellness of female employees.

Cuban promised to donate $10 million to women's causes, but he was nonetheless raked over the coals for what many thought was a disingenuous response to the internal issues that have apparently plagued the Mavs organization for the past two decades.
