Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has never been a behind-the-scenes kind of guy. With his Mavs set to face off against the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round of the playoffs, the billionaire did not hesitate to take a shot at Rajon Rondo, who himself happens to be a former Maverick.

In a recent appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Cuban took the first jab of what should be a smack talk-filled series:

“I hope he shoots a lot,” said Cuban of Rondo. “I hope he takes more shots than any guy on the team from outside the paint.”

Rondo may be a tremendous playmaker, but we all know that his shooting leaves a lot to be desired. Even Clippers fans will attest to this.

Cuban is well aware of Rondo's shortcomings when it comes to shooting the ball, and the Mavs owner made sure to point it out in his pre-game trash talk.

Rondo played half a season with the Mavs during the 2014-15 season, and while his tenure in Dallas may have been short-lived, one could say that he made an impact on the franchise. It looks like he built a relationship with Cuban as well, with the two appearing to be smack-talking terms. It's either that or Cuban just really doesn't care.

Whatever the case may be, we should be in store for what could be one of the most interesting matchups in the first round. The Clippers are undeniably the favorites, but the Mavs won't be bowing out without a fight.
