Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is always doing Luka Magic things. The 22-year-old shot a step-back jumper over Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant on Thursday, where the Mavericks went up against the Nets.

Doncic ended the first quarter scoring eight points along with two rebounds and one assist. He’s certainly improved his three-point shot, which has helped him become a threat on the offensive end this season. As per writing, Doncic is averaging 28.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game this season—one can argue that these are MVP numbers.

Unfortunately for Doncic, he cannot make a case for himself on the MVP ballot this season. The Mavs are currently in the fifth spot of the competitive Western Conference standings. However, it seems they can avoid the play-in tournament after all since they’ve been winning their past couple of games. If Doncic and his team survive the Nets on Thursday then that’s going to be huge for the team at least for the standings.

If there’s one thing Mavs fans have smiled about this season, it’s how impressive Doncic has been. This comes to nobody’s surprise as he was indeed expected to perform like this. It’s just amazing for basketball viewers to get excited about what this young player does every night. The game seems to come really easy for him. Just look at this effortless half-court shot he made on Thursday.

With how he’s playing right now, Doncic can be considered the next potential face of the league.
