To say that Rick Carlisle is impressed with Luka Doncic is definitely quite an understatement. The Dallas Mavericks head coach once again threw heaps of praise toward his young superstar as Doncic led the Mavs to their ninth win in 12 outings.

After a huge win in Brooklyn, Carlisle's team took a trip to Florida and came out with a 130-124 win over the Orlando Magic.

Doncic, as always, was impressive as he can be.

ā€œYou're constantly talking to players about not jumping in the air and making decisions,ā€ the Mavs coach said, via Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News. ā€œThis guy defies a lot of logic when it comes to conventional coaching theories, and that's why we give him the ball and let him go.ā€

The Slovenian guard led the Mavs with a near triple-double performance of 33 points, 10 boards and nine assists. The 22-year-old was simply dazzling for the Mavs as he dissected the Magic's defense with an array of no-look passes and fancy dishes.

Luka Doncic has been one of the best in the league in terms of attracting the defense before pitching the ball across the court to an open teammate. Here's Doncic channeling his inner magnetic energy before finding a wide-open Maxi Kleber (via Mavs Twitter):

To Rick Carlisle's point, Doncic has a tendency of defying logic with his creativity. In this play, reason would tell you to hit a rolling Dwight Powell, but Luka Magic pulled off an insane overhead, no-look pass for a Tim Hardaway Jr. triple.

With plays like these, Carlisle knows that Doncic is having fun out there. And as long as he's bringing in the Ws, the Mavs head coach would be more than happy to move out of the way and let Doncic call the shots on the court for the team.
