Tim Hardaway believes the Dallas Mavericks have a bright future ahead of them, and he thinks his son can be part of the Mavs' young core that includes Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

Hardaway, however, pointed that Luka and Kristaps need to stay healthy in order for the Mavs to reach their full potential as a team.

“I do see good things for Dallas in the future. If they get a free agent that complements all three of them [Doncic, Porzingis and Hardaway],” Tim Hardaway Sr. said, per Marc Berman of The New York Post. “But Porzingis has got to stay healthy and Luka has to come back his second year and be healthy.”

While it's surprising for Tim Hardaway Jr. to be mentioned in the same breath as Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, the former NBA star is right in saying that the Mavs are poised for a big jump next season.

Of course the team needs to make significant signings in the summer, especially with the point guard and center positions seemingly lacking after parting ways with Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan. However, the Mavs have enough cap space to bring in at least two starting quality players or one max contract player.

Role players like Dorian Finney-Smith, Maxi Kleber, Justin Jackson, Dwight Powell and Jalen Brunson could potentially carve out a niche with the team long-term too and could develop into a dangerous reserve unit.
