There's “rumored speculation” that Al Horford will get a four-year, $112 million deal from the Dallas Mavericks once free agency starts on June 30. Horford isn't expected to re-sign with the Boston Celtics. The Mavs have been linked to Horford since talks with the Celtics broke down.

Horford declined a $30.1 million player option with the Celtics. The All-Star big man clearly knows he can get a more lucrative contract on the open market. Nothing is set in stone, but that offer could be coming from the Mavs.

“Al Horford clearly knows he has another offer,” ESPN's Brian Windhorst said. “The speculation within the league is that it's with the Dallas Mavericks. I'm just going to tell you the number that is out there that they're talking about. I have no idea whether it's true. Do you know the number, (Tim) MacMahon?”

“112,” replied ESPN's Jackie MacMullan. Four years, $112 million is the number floating around.”

This past season with the Celtics, Horford averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 53.5 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from beyond the arc and 82.1 percent from the free-throw line. The Mavs could deploy a Big 3 of Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis and Horford next season if they are able to sign Al.

The Mavs, though, should be careful with this. Horford is 33. $112 million is a lot of money for an aging player.
