It wasn't an ideal Sunday night for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Aside from losing to the Sacramento Kings for the third time in the past two weeks, the two-time All-Star was also ejected late in the game. After receiving his 15th technical foul of the season, one away from being handed a one-game suspension, Luka Doncic wants everyone not to worry.
“I won't get another one. Don't worry. ” the Slovenian said after the loss (via Brad Townsend of Dallas Morning News).
Alongside Doncic, Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle was also ejected from Sunday night's 111-99 loss. Here's Doncic's second tech of the evening which was rather confusing for everyone in the building (via Bleacher Report):
The race in the Western playoff picture right now is pretty tight with just a few games left before the regular season wraps up. Despite huge wins in their last few games, Sunday's loss against the Kings brings the Mavs back down to the seventh spot in a three-way tie with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers who all have a 36-28 record. For what it's worth, Dallas is 6-3 in their last nine games with three of their losses coming at the hands of the Kings.
If Luka Doncic and the Mavs want to avoid being stuck in a crazy play-in situation to potentially face the Memphis Grizzlies, the Golden State Warriors, or the San Antonio Spurs, Doncic has to keep his cool and avoid any suspensions moving forward.
