The transfer portal has only been open for a couple of days, but there are already some big-name players that have entered, and there are over 1,200 players in so far. One of those big-name players that is in the portal is Oregon State football quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. Uiagalelei is no stranger to the portal as he started off his career with Clemson before transferring to Oregon State. His head coach, Jonathan Smith, is leaving the Beavers for the head coaching job at Michigan State football, and that could play a big role in where Uiagalelei ends up.

It's only been a few days since the transfer portal opened, but so far, there are some reports saying that DJ Uiagalelei could be making a return to the ACC.

“As for DJ Uiagalelei, we could see a return to the ACC,” ESPN's Pete Thamel said. “Two schools that have emerged as his top suitors are Florida State and Louisville. He has no visits set. Mississippi State has also shown some interest, but DJU could be making a cross country trip back to the Atlantic, he obviously started at Clemson, thrived last year at Oregon State, has one more year of eligibility left. He's one of the top quarterbacks available in this portal.”

While those are the rumblings coming out of ESPN, Michigan State football is actually the favorite to land Uiagalelei on the betting site Bovada. When he first entered the portal, the Spartans were immediately a program to keep an eye on because of the fact that Uiagalelei's coach, Jonathan Smith, is now with Michigan State. Oregon State's backup QB, Aidan Chiles, is also in the transfer portal, and Michigan State has been talked about as a good landing spot for him as well.

Smith will certainly have his work cut out for him with the Spartans as that program isn't in a good spot right now, but if he can land one his former QBs, that would be a good start. At this point, it seems likely that one of them will end up transferring to play for the Spartans.
