Currently, players around the world eagerly wait for the release of Halo Infinite. However, it seems that Microsoft has their sights beyond the horizon of their next game's launch. One Microsoft posting for a 343 Industries game producer hints towards another Halo game in the works.

The Game Producer posting appeared on the Microsoft careers website on February 6, 2021. The post itself revealed little information save for the fact that the new hire will be working on a “new project in the Halo universe.” Ultimately, the new hire will not be working on the Halo Infinite title which is currently in development. It's not at all unlikely for big game studios to look towards outside hires especially when starting big new projects.

The Next-generation Halo

Microsoft reinvigorated the entire franchise starting from its surprise port to the PC platform. The developers quickly set to work on new entries to the series after seeing the immense success on a new platform. Undoubtedly, Halo fans never ran out of love and affection for the hit space shooter given their rabid support for the titles despite the new ports.

Naturally, developers respond positively to their fans rabid wishes for new entries in a franchise. Fans expected Infinite to be Microsoft's answer to their prayers but far fewer people expected them to continue building games in the series.

The job listing requires applicants with experience in shipping AAA games for the current generation. This confirms that the upcoming untitled project will be a massive game worthy of a AAA price tag. The developers cleverly hid any other clues that might tip off keener fans and players of the series.

Fans hope that the next project will have a better development cycle than Infinite. The upcoming title already received several hurdles in its development. Hopefully, no delays mar the release of the next games in the franchise.
