The Atlanta Hawks will be without the services of forward Mike Scott for the next four weeks while he undergoes a series of non-surgical procedures for knee soreness, according to the team.

Scott has not suited up for the Hawks this season, but was slated to be the primary backup to All-Star power forward Paul Millsap.

The 28-year-old averaged 6.2 points and 2.7 rebounds for the Hawks last season, while shooting 46.8 percent from the floor and a career-high 39.2 percent from deep. He will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

The Hawks released 7-foot-3 center Walter Tavares and plan to sign forward/center Ryan Kelly with the recent news of Scott's sideline stint, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Kelly was previously cut from the team during training camp, but can see a role as a stretch-four during Scott's absence.
