This was Miles College's second game in as many days. The Bears recently secured a hard-fought victory against Edward Waters University (76-69). Aumauri Tillman then added a 3-pointer, extending Savannah State's lead to 16-7. However, as the game progressed, the tide turned against the Tigers. Miles College responded to SSU's lead with a 13-1 run, snatching the lead from the Tigers and making it 20-17 in favor of the Bears. Miles College held on to that lead throughout the first half, leading 23-26 heading into the second half.

Early in the second half, the Bears started strong with consecutive baskets, extending their lead to 30-23. SSU quickly responded with an impressive 8-1 run, ignited by Jordan Mikel's powerful dunk at the 18:44 mark. However, the Bears counteracted Savannah's surge with a run of their own. Miles College showcased their shooting prowess with two consecutive three-pointers, propelling them to a six-point advantage.

With 8:02 remaining, SSU's Jordan was fouled, narrowing their deficit to just four points. Unfortunately, the Tigers couldn't bridge the gap any further as Miles College proved to be a formidable opponent. The Bears embarked on a dominant 15-1 run, securing their fifth victory of the season.
