Liverpool-Manchester United predictions
Jurgen Klopp's men couldn't be in better form heading into this game. They booked their ticket to the Champions League semifinals last week after beating Benfica 6-4 across two legs then absolutely ran riot on Man City at the weekend, eliminating them in the FA Cup semifinals by a score of 3-2. The Merseysiders were three goals to the good by halftime thanks to an early Ibrahima Konate and Sadio Mane's brace. Liverpool did allow City to claw their way back into the fixture but ultimately held on. The Reds are now riding an eight-game unbeaten run, winning six times during that span. Also, they've gone 12-3-0 at Anfield this term in Premier League action, which is a fantastic sign ahead of Tuesday's encounter.
Manchester United is certainly not enjoying the greatest campaign. For a club with such a rich history, the Red Devils have seriously disappointed in 2021/22. They're out of every major competition and no hardware is going to be won in the Premier League, either. Unless the side picks their act up extremely quickly, United will find themselves in Europa next season as well. Last weekend's win over Norwich was far from convincing, with Cristiano Ronaldo saving the day with a heroic hat-trick. Prior to that, however, Man U tasted defeat to Everton. In fact, Ralf Rangnick's group has won just once in their previous four outings. To make matters even worse, Ronaldo is unavailable to feature against Liverpool after the tragic death of his baby boy on Monday. That being said, the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford, among others, will be tasked with attempting to create some havoc up top against a rock-solid Reds backline. A result is badly needed for United here, especially with two more daunting fixtures ahead against Arsenal and Chelsea. Hopefully, Ronaldo can return by then.
I simply don't see any way Liverpool comes out of this game with anything less than the full three points. They're truly firing on all cylinders right now and Manchester United is far too unreliable to stop them. Plus, without Cristiano, they lack any serious threat in the final third.
