MLB trade rumors have officially begun. With the calendar having switched to July, that means that the August 2 trade deadline is less than a month away. One team who has repeatedly popped up in the rumor mill is the New York Yankees. New York owns the best record in baseball, though with their eyes on a World Series title, general manager Brian Cashman certainly won't hesitate to make a move that he feels puts them closer to such a goal.

The Yankees have been linked to several players, most recently, Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi. Well, MLB Network's Jon Morosi floated this Royals player that the Yankees have been linked to in the latest MLB trade rumors- and it isn't Benintendi.

Per Morosi, the Yankees are looking at Royals outfielder Michael A. Taylor. Taylor won a Gold Glove playing center field for Kansas City last year. He's yet another Royals player that the 61-25 Yankees are looking at, along with Andrew Benintendi.

Taylor would be intriguing because, as Morosi points out, he would allow New York to keep MVP candidate Aaron Judge- who has played a fair amount of center this year- as well as Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Hicks healthy down the stretch. That would be more than worth it for New York.

Taylor also isn't bad with the bat, having posted a .265 batting average with a .724 OPS in 232 plate appearances. In what figures to be an active MLB trade deadline from the Yankees, don't overlook a potential move for Royals outfielder Michael A. Taylor.
