The Houston Astros just won their first World Series since 2017 in epic fashion, taking down the Philadelphia Phillies in six games thanks to a series-clinching three-run homer from Yordan Alvarez in Game 6. Most importantly, it was a bittersweet moment for manager Dusty Baker, who captured his very first ring in 25 years of managing at the big league level and will have the chance to do it again in 2023.
Astros owner Jim Crane said Tuesday he's offering both Dusty and GM James Click contracts for next year.
Via Bob Nightengale: “Houston Astros owner Jim Crane spoke with manager Dusty Baker and GM James Click on Monday and plans to formally extend each of them a contract for the 2023 season in the quest for back-to-back World Series titles.”
Dusty also made it abundantly clear he plans on returning to chase another title.

Can't blame him. Baker finally got that first World Series win as a coach and you better believe it felt good. Given the way this roster is constructed, they have every chance of running it back next fall. Dusty led the Astros to a 106-56 record during the regular season, the best in the AL. In the playoffs, their only two losses came in the Fall Classic against the Phillies.
Everyone loves Dusty, therefore you know the Astros organization and all the fans will be pleased to see him back at Minute Maid come 2023 Opening Day.
