Cody Bellinger has had a couple of down seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers since winning the MVP award back in 2019. But he's showing some serious signs of life this season.

Bellinger looked like his 2019 self on Sunday against the San Diego Padres as the Dodgers outfielder hit not one, but two home runs in the contest. That marks his 14th career multi-HR game which is the most in franchise history by any player through their age 26 season.

Bellinger drove in four runs in his record-setting night. His two homers matched his season total from his first 14 games of the year. The two-time All-Star spoke out after the contest on getting the proverbial monkey off his oft-injured shoulder.

Via ESPN:

“The only think you can do is keep going no matter what,″ Bellinger said. “But it’s just that the shoulder is stronger than it was last year and I would say that’s a lot of it.″

The Dodgers are off to a scorching start this season at 11-4, ranking as the best record in the MLB through its early stages. If Cody Bellinger can flex his muscles like this more often, then there's little doubt LA can muster up a deep postseason run once again.
